Editorial Standards & Trust

How we vet facilities, fact-check pricing, and maintain editorial independence.

Quick answer: Editorial Standards & Trust
HomeEditorial Standards & Trust

We only refer families to facilities that meet a specific bar, checked in this order before anyone on our team recommends a community:

  1. Active Nevada DPBH Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance (BHCQC) license, with no open disciplinary action
  2. The facility's last two state survey/inspection cycles reviewed for repeat or serious deficiencies
  3. Real family references — not the facility's own curated testimonials
  4. Pricing transparency — a facility that won't disclose real monthly costs isn't one we refer to
  5. An on-site visit by a local advisor within the past 12 months

Pricing shown across this site is refreshed on a rolling basis from active local providers, not pulled from national averages. When we can't independently confirm a number, we say so rather than publish a guess.

How we make money: Vegas Senior Advisor is a paid referral service. Communities that accept a placement pay us a referral fee — families never pay anything, at any point in the process. This doesn't change which facilities we recommend: a community that fails our licensing or safety checks doesn't get referred, regardless of what it would pay us. See our How We Get Paid page for the full breakdown.

Corrections: if you spot outdated information anywhere on this site — a closed facility, a stale price, a licensing detail that's changed — email [email protected] and we'll verify and correct it.

Common questions

Do facilities pay to be listed or ranked higher on this site?
No. Facilities cannot pay for placement, ranking, or inclusion in our directory. We're paid a referral fee only when a family we've worked with actually moves in somewhere, and only by the facility that accepts them — never by families, and never in exchange for favorable coverage.
How often is pricing information updated?
Pricing is refreshed on a rolling basis from active local providers. Cost guides are dated so you can see how current the numbers are; if a facility won't share real pricing, we don't publish a guess in its place.
What disqualifies a facility from being referred?
An expired or suspended BHCQC license, an open disciplinary action, a pattern of serious deficiencies in recent state surveys, or a refusal to disclose real pricing. Any one of those is enough to keep a facility off our referral list.
